Must be completed prior to using QRA Equipment

Step 1. Orientation to boathouse and equipment with member of QRA Board or person designated by board.

• Explanation of policies surrounding boat damage or breakage
   o Rower is responsible for cost up to deductible ($500)
   o Rower must contact board or Bay Captain
   o Rower must leave note indicating boat is damaged, preferably     remove seat to make boat unrowable
• Orientation to Equipment (Club vs. Private)
• Explanation of Boat Reservation List
• Explanation of Boat Log Book (importance of signing in and out)
• Use of lights


Step 2. If using QRA equipment,

• All new members must pass Captain's Test pdf to use Hudson 1x, Wintech 1x, and Hudson 2x)
• If does not pass Captain's Test or has limited sculling experience (to be determined at discretion of board) then must complete at least 60 miles in Vespolis, Herka or Gig

Step 3. Read Lake Quinsigamond Safety Rulespdf and
QRA Membership Manual pdf

Step 4. Complete our Applicationpdf and send Dues to Treasurer
Mail completed application with membership fee to:

Step 5. Obtain key from Angela Snell at Shrewsbury Parks and Recreation


EXPECTATIONS:
The QRA expects the following from its members:


Scullers shall be able to carry boat out of rack to the dock safely, and place it in the water without damaging the boat.

Scullers shall have adequate rowing skills to get around safely without damaging the boat or endangering others.

Scullers shall use the log book regularly.

Scullers are able to swim at least 50 yards.

Scullers shall be capable of handling a capsized single without endangering themselves or others.

Scullers shall be responsible for arranging repair of boat damage and shall pay for damage caused which is beyond expected wear and tear.

Scullers shall assist with club related activities such as boat house clean up and regatta volunteering.

Scullers shall pay dues on time.
